Solarwaterworld AG was founded in March 2001. Since 2008, the company has been headquartered in Berlin. Emerging from the Institute for Solar Shipbuilding, Solarwaterworld AG combines scientific-theoretical, technical and practical expertise with worldwide marketing and licensing.

Solarwaterworld AG designs, develops and manufactures solar systems and accessories in the water sports sector, for example for upgrading and converting conventional boats and ships. As early as spring 1995, Solarwaterworld AG opened the world's first solar boat filling station in Berlin-Köpenick - so that solar boats can also be supplied with solar energy after sunset. The endurance and stress test for Solarwaterworld AG's technology and material was completed in 2007 by the catamaran Sun21, which crossed the Atlantic to New York.
